Introduction

Hey everybody, I wanted to welcome you to my blog. This blog is created for a class I am taking at ISU called OLP4407: Instructional Technology in Human Resource Development. I plan to share on this blog the different type of technologies that will help with instruction. I currently teach at College of Southern Idaho in the welding department, most of my students are non-traditional and I want to find new tools that I can use to assist me in teaching my students. I will post any interesting articles, blogs or thoughts that I have here so stay tuned!

What makes a good blog?

Hey everyone, I wanted to make this post about what I believe makes a good blog. Personally when I read I blog I tend to enjoy the ones that take a topic and break it down in lists with photos. I will make an example in this post. TOP THINGS TO PREPARE FOR COLLEGE FOR NON-TRADITIONAL STUDENTS 1: Welcome the challenge College is going to be tough. Not only because the classes are going to have instructors that want to give you all the information needed for the subject and help you to your goal but you also have you personal life to manage.  2: Understand your personal pace Just remember that you are taking the first steps to improving yourself and it will be tough. Maybe start with a smaller load before jumping into a full credits. Your pace and credit load is going to be unique to your life situation so don't over do it. Survey Monkey, a useful monkey.

  Hey everyone, today is all about SurveyMonkey. No, it's not a personal monkey who completes surveys. Instead, it's a survey system which allows you to make, submit, and examine results easy and free! I have used SurveyMonkey a few times in my classes at ISU and when teaching at CSI.  A fun survey I use today which I made a while ago is about what kind of dog people prefer. I use it mostly as an example to my welders how different people have different tastes and that translate into welding. Here is the survey if you want to give it a try!
