AI: a great brain storming companion.

AI: A Great Brain Storming Companion.

Welcome back from Spring break! It has seem like quite awhile since we've done a blog post. This particular post is going to be quite interesting. I would like to start by explaining my relationship with AIs. I am quite fluent with using AI chat bots and other sorts. I love brain storming, and sometimes I don't have someone to brainstorm with. I use chat GBT for this. I do a lot of coding on the side for fun, and part of coding is finding errors. I use chat GBT to help me come up with ideas or to help simplify my code. I used to do the same thing with youtube videos, but they sometimes would not pertain to my exact situation. However, with chat GBT it can give me direct feedback on my code. I thought it would be fun to ask chat GBT some pros with AI and see if I used AI in that way.

1: Automate repetitive tasks:

Oh yes. 100% I have done this with AI. While the photo shows more logistical stuff, I have used AI to create a basic redundant code like "Create me a code to move a character using arrow keys" and then will produce me a code that I can modify.

2: Efficiency:

This is a big one for me. When I work on things sometimes I get discouraged by the shear volume of the task at hand. I try to do everything the smart and best way, but sometimes I don't know what that way is, so I ask chat GBT. Sometimes it gives me a much better route and even how to use the AI to help with it.

3: Personalization:

One of my favorite part of using AI is I can ask it a custom question to my unique issue. I used to use youtube tutorials for everything. However, there were times they wouldn't have the exact issues I had which left me on a goose chase. I can recall a time were I was having computer issues and could not for the life of me find a video about it. I then asked chat GBT about my particular problem and got the answer I needed.

  4: Education:

I have used AI a few times for my personal education and for my classes. It usually involves prompts towards welding project assignments. There are times I want to make a fun beginner project, and I am just out of ideas. Recently I asked it and it suggested a mini rocket stove, for heating up water or warming up a can. We started building them last week and the students love it.

5: Exploration and Discovery

This is a pretty interesting prompt from the AI. I haven't used AI in this way, but I did ask it to explain and it stated "AI can analyze vast amounts of data from various sources to discover new insights and patterns in fields like astronomy, genomics, and climate science, leading to scientific advancements.". This is pretty interesting, I haven't personally used it in this way, but I have used it to search my codes to suggest possible improvements. I do believe for those who are more into those fields then AI can be quite helpful.

What did we learn?

AI can be incredibly useful! It can help with so many tasks. However, I do understand people's fears of AI. People can just type a prompt and get an essay, cheat on tests, and overall just use the AI instead of their own work. However, I am personally optimistic about the ways AI can be implemented for personal growth and projects. I use AI on the regular, and I believe that if more people would use AI as a tool to help with certain ideas then people wouldn't be so fearful. I personally love AI as a brainstorming, to help with my personal projects and ideas in the class room. Now, the question is... How will you use this newest advancement in technology?

  1. Hi Brand,

Great job on your blog post! Yes, AI is incredibly useful! Investments in AI have led to transformative advances now impacting our everyday lives, including mapping technologies, voice-assisted smart phones, handwriting recognition for mail delivery, financial trading, smart logistics, spam filtering, language translation, and more. AI advances are also providing great benefits to our social wellbeing in areas such as precision medicine, environmental sustainability, education, and public welfare.

    Best regards,
    Geni
